You become like your inner circle.

Ubuntu Mastermind is a supportive community of education change-makers that understand that personal transformation is the basis to transform education. And that no one can do it alone.

It embraces the interconnectedness of the Ubuntu philosophy (“I am because we are“) and the mastery-focus of mastermind groups (“The meeting of the minds” – and hearts!).

Strengthen accountability towards your goals

Conquer limiting beliefs and face your challenges

Test your ideas, gain new perspectives

Lend your strengths and borrow from peers

Be energized and collaborate with values-driven people

What members experience

Ubuntu is not just a community, it is a circle of strength, support and inspiration. I first joined as a homeschooling mother. Today, I find myself as a facilitator, creating learner-centric spaces with confidence and clarity.
Harika
I have been a part of Ubuntu Mastermind for one year, and I already see the improvement in all areas: confidence, valuing my work, being accepted as I am, and insights into brave individuals who are making a change.
Ida
Ubuntu Mastermind is an amazing community to connect, share, listen and grow alongside educational changemakers. A place where you can be completely yourself, and get support as you walk your path.

What’s Ubuntu Mastermind?

Ubuntu Mastermind is a small peer group where education changemakers support, encourage and learn from one another as they move toward their goals. We learn from both successes and failures, building on the collective wisdom of the group. Each member embraces the role of mentor and coach for the rest, with complete honesty, respect and compassion.

When you apply, we will review your form and contact you with the next steps. Ubuntu is a small peer community, so we want to make sure the group is a good fit for your current journey.

A peer community, carefully facilitated

Luz Olid and David Caballero coordinate and facilitate Ubuntu Mastermind. We are the founders of Evolving Education, directors of the films like “Killing Curiosity” and training programs like “The Art of Facilitating Growth”.

We believe in the power of learning communities to experiment and design new paths for living more sustainably and equitably. We are passionate about the transformation of education through intentional communities for inspiration, experimentation and personal growth.

What participants say about our facilitation

In today’s world, we’re all searching for a village to belong to—and the UMM community truly feels like mine. It’s a space where I know I’m supported, and where I give that support in return.
Anamika
The guidance, exchange of ideas and encouragement I receive here have been life-changing. I am deeply grateful to Luz and David for building such a compassionate and empowering community of educators. - Harika

Our practices include:

  • Collective intelligence sessions to explore challenges and co-create solutions with the support of the group.
  • Informal meet-ups to strengthen community, share learnings, passions, and celebrations.
  • Dynamics to care for wellbeing, resilience, iterative learning and transforming intentions in action.
  • Dedicated communication channels and shared spaces for collaboration.
  • 1:1 member meet-ups and coaching support when needed.

Our rhythms evolve constantly to meet the needs of the group. We currently meet twice a month: 2-hour collective intelligence call the 1st Friday of the month; and 1-hour café call the 3rd Wednesday of the month. Both at 15:00 GMT.
